  • 1988-2003 Full Time Classroom Teacher in the Rochester City School District. Taught at #39 School and School of the Arts. Taught general ed., inclusive classrooms and gifted/talented. Was a lead/mentor teacher from 1996-2003.

 

  • 2014-Present National Presenter for the Bureau of Education and Research: Travel all across the United States presenting full day seminars on several different topics to educators and related staff K-12

 

Current Professional Responsibilities:
  • Work directly with ELA standards leaders and classroom teachers to develop rigorous curriculum and assessments that reflect the Common Core Learning Standards.

  • Facilitate the IST/ARI identification process including: program options, remediation, assessment and monitoring of progress of gifted students.

  • Set goals, develop programs and facilitate program options for high performing/gifted students.

  • Deliver instruction to high performing/gifted students as indicated by the Instructional Support Team (IST).

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers regarding appropriate assessment and differentiation for gifted/high performing students.

  • Use data to monitor student achievement for the purpose of informing instruction.

  • Follow-up and support best practices/district initiatives to provide challenge for high performing/gifted students.

  • Serve on district committees to represent the needs of high performing/gifted students.

  • Plan and deliver targeted professional learning opportunities for district staff.

  • Mentor Teacher for the district and work with new teachers.
